A Spartan 42” Wide Brush Cutter Attachment (10,000-14,000lb Class): The Specs

This 42” wide brush cutter attachment for mini excavators actually is 44” wide (it offers a 42” cutting width and is 57” long with a 22” height without the mount).

It has two ⅝”x5½”x9¾” AR400 blades (clockwise only rotation) and is capable of cutting through woody debris up to 3” thick.

It is powered by a direct-drive 50 HP hydraulic motor with a 3000 PSI internal motor relief. It accepts standard hydraulic hoses and flat-face couplers and requires a 10-25 GPM flow at 2500 to 4000 PSI. It also comes with hydraulic hoses and a toggle switch.

These 42” wide brush cutter attachments are also configurable with protective hoods but note that this option must be added prior to checking out.

Please note: if your machine is equipped with a hydraulic thumb, then you need to purchase a 12V 3 kit and attach it to your 12-volt battery’s terminals.

These brush cutter attachments are also configurable with either pin-on or quick change mounts (two classes are available, one for up to 12,000lb class and one for greater than 12,000lb class).

Care and Maintenance

These brush cutter attachments are covered by a generous 1-year warranty, but it’s still important to observe proper care and maintenance procedures and protocols as outlined in the Owner’s Manual.

• Before every use: Inspect all fasteners and ensure that are properly secured and tightened. Replace and missing fasteners, and replace any worn, obstructed or missing safety decals. Inspect for oil leaks and repair as necessary.

• Every week: Raise the attachment and inspect the condition of the blades for wear or other signs of damage. If necessary, remove and sharpen the blades or, if damaged, replace them. Sharp cutter blades cut more efficiently than dull or worn blades and will improve your productivity.

• Every season: Inspect the entire attachment for any loose or missing fasteners or parts. Tighten fasteners as necessary and replace missing or worn parts. Inspect the cutting blades for wear; remove and sharpen or replace as necessary. Inspect the attachment for wear or scratches; sand and repaint any areas in which the paint has been worn or gouged in order to protect against rust. Last but not least, store your attachment in a covered shed to protect it from the elements. If it must be stored outside, cover it with a waterproof tarp to protect it from the elements.

Additional Notes

These excavator brush cutters (and our mulchers) must be operated in 1-way flow mode and the valve on the excavator must be placed in the hammer mode; hydraulic case pressure cannot exceed 20 GPM or 300 PSI; if it does exceed 300 PSI, a case drain line is required.
