Mini skid steer soil conditioner attachments may be highly specialized but they also excel at grooming seedbeds while aerating, breaking up clods, and leveling, making them perfect for giving soil a once-over prior to planting.

If you’re looking for a new mini skid steer soil conditioner for your machine, ours is the last one you’ll ever need. Here are the basics that you should know.

What Are Mini Skid Steer Soil Conditioners Used for?

Mini skid steer soil conditioners are used to till and mill the soil. This makes them perfect for the renovation of turf and for preparing seedbeds prior to planting.

They are also particularly useful for reconditioning infield mixes, de-thatching existing turf, and even backfilling trenches.

Our mini skid steer soil conditioners offer numerous traits and features that make them perfectly suitable for these applications as well.

They feature pure carbide cutting teeth that are sharper, harder, more durable and longer-lasting and which powerfully and efficiently pulverize and even the soil, as well as a counter-rotating rotor that moves soil ahead of it as it tills, filling in low spots, cutting down high spots, and evening the surface of the soil.

They also feature low-profile frames that offer excellent visibility, and compact dimensions that make them perfect for use in tight spaces where larger dedicated machines would not be able to go. They also feature adjustable end-plates that allow you to get up close to sidewalks, foundations, and other linear structures without damaging them.

And, they come equipped with hydraulic hoses and flat-face couplers so they are ready to hook up and go.

With Which Skid Steer Makes and Models Are They Compatible?

Our mini skid steer soil conditioners are compatible with a wide range of machine makes and models, including Toro, Boxer, Ditch Witch, Kubota, Bobcat, ASV, and Vermeer.

How Much Do They Weigh?

We sell manual and hydraulic angle skid steer soil conditioners. Both models weigh 470 lbs.

What Sort of Maintenance Do They Require?

While our mini skid steer attachments are among the toughest in the industry, they perform best when properly maintained.

Before inspecting the attachment, be sure to lower it to rest on the rotor or wheels and shut down the attachment. Relieve hydraulic pressure, wait for all motion to stop and set the parking brake before inspecting.

Be aware that initial use can cause bolts, screws, and other fasteners to loosen. After the first hour of initial use, shut down the machine according to the previous guidelines and inspect all fasteners, tightening as necessary.

Moving forward, before every use, make sure to fastidiously inspect the attachment for damage, loose bolts, fluid leaks, or anything else that could cause a potential concern to the safe operation of the attachment.

It is also necessary to lubricate the attachment at several points, according to the following schedule:

  • Grease both caster wheel bushings with No. 2 lithium base gun grease after every 8 hours of operation.
  • Grease the center pivot bushing with No. 2 lithium base gun grease every 8 hours.
  • Grease both lower float arm pivots and the rotor bearing with No. 2 lithium base gun grease every 8 hours.
  • Grease the wheel bearings with No. 2 lithium base gun grease every 4 hours.

Prior to operating the attachment, inspect all hydraulic hoses and couplers for signs of damage or wear. Never inspect a suspected leak with bare skin; always probe with a piece of wood or cardboard as pressurized hydraulic fluid is ejected with pinhole leaks with enough force to cause serious injury or death.
